Richard D. Harvey received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Kansas. He currently holds a double appointment as an Associate Professor in both the Social Psychology and Industrial/Organizational Psychology programs in the Department of Psychology at Saint Louis University. Dr. Harvey is an internationally recognized expert in Diversity/Equity /Inclusion (DEI). While he is most known as the inventor of the internationally known Intergroup Monopoly (also called Oppression Monopoly) simulation, he is also widely known for his distinct DEI assessment methodologies and his ability to help organizations go beyond the “theory” of DEI to practical implementation of effective DEI processes. He currently conducts and has published research on a variety of topics including: Inclusion, Prejudice/Racism, Colorism, and Performance Management/Evaluation. Finally, he teaches graduate and/or undergraduate courses in Change Management/Organizational Development, Leadership, Statistics, Prejudice, and Social Psychology. He is a recipient of a variety of research, teaching, and mentoring awards.
