• Shannon Mills, DDS:

  Dr Mills is internationally recognized as an expert in dental infection prevention and safety with an emphasis on dental unit water quality. He has authored or co-authored numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals on this and other topics. While serving on the USAF Surgeon General’s Staff, he participated as a member of the Advisory Group for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Healthcare Settings—2003. Dr. Mills was the editor of the Organization for Safety Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) Dental Waterline White Paper and Recommendations published in 2018. He is actively involved in development of dental industry standards as Chair of American National Standards Institute/American Dental Association Standards Committee Consensus Body 5 – Infection Prevention and Control, and is a member of the US Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 106 - Dentistry. Dr. Mills is the author of the American Dental Association Practical Guide to Effective Infection Prevention and Control published in 2022.
