Dr. Giri brings nearly two decades of clinical expertise working alongside medical sleep specialists to deliver oral appliance therapy for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, with a concurrent emphasis on Temporomandibular joint disorders and Orofacial pain. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dentistry at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and holds board certifications in both Dental Sleep Medicine and Orofacial Pain. Dr. Giri collaborates with Mayo Clinic’s Center for Sleep Medicine to provide Oral Appliance therapy. Her advanced training in Orofacial Pain and a master’s degree in oral biology, centered on chronic pain mechanisms, were completed at the University of Minnesota.
While Dr. Giri has always prioritized improving her patients’ sleep and pain outcomes to enhance their quality of life, her interests recently broadened to include the well-being of dental professionals—an area that gained importance with the unique challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. She published research validating the Well-being Index as a tool for assessing dentists’ well-being. Additionally, Dr. Giri has contributed textbook chapters, journal articles, and patents to the field.
