Shelley Olson D.D.S

Dr. Shelley Barker Olson graduated in the spring of 1998 from Appalachian State University with a BS in biology and in May of 2002 received her DDS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. While at UNC she was President of the American Association of Women Dentists. Since receiving her degree, Dr. Olson has been in private practice, active in her community, and served in elected offices of local, district, state and national dental societies. Additionally, she is actively working with the North Carolina Dental Society as President-Elect and the American Dental Association as Vice Chair of the Council on Dental Benefits Programming.

Dr. Olson upholds the professional ideals of quality care and has an intense concern for the welfare of her patients and fellow dentists. She was awarded the North Carolina Commendation Award in 2014 and the NCDS Meritorious Achievement Award in 2025 for her leadership qualities and service to the ADA, NCDS and her community.
