Shane Sheets MBA

Shane Sheets is director of the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, where he oversees morgue operations, investigative services and forensic staff across 37 counties in Minnesota. With more than 10 years of leadership experience in death investigation and emergency communications, he has built a career rooted in operational excellence, crisis management and public service. A board-certified medicolegal death investigator, Shane has served in roles ranging from lead investigator to supervisor, training and mentoring more than 60 investigators and leading initiatives that support compliance, efficiency and compassionate service delivery. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He serves on the IACME Board of Directors and is the current IACME president and chair of the Communications Committee.
