Samira Shafaee D.D.S

Samira Shafaee earned her undergraduate degree from UC Davis and went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the UCLA School of Dentistry. She then completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the San Diego VA Hospital dental division, which provides care for veterans with complex medical needs. Dr. Shafaee has advanced training through two UCLA mini residency programs in Sleep Breathing Disorders and Orofacial Pain and TMJ Dysfunction, and she is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Her clinical work reflects a strong commitment to whole health dentistry with an emphasis on the oral systemic connection and preventive care. She is also the founder of the T1D Oral Health Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advocates for the oral health and dental needs of all individuals with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
