Lawrence Fung, MD, PhD, DFAACAP, is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, where he directs the Stanford Neurodiversity Project and the Neurodiversity Clinic and serves as principal investigator at the Fung Lab. His research focuses on autism and neurodiversity, integrating multi-modal neuroimaging studies and innovative applications in clinical and educational settings. Using novel neuroimaging technologies, his lab explores the neural basis of socio-communicative and cognitive functions, while employing community-based participatory research to develop interventions that enhance the potential of neurodiverse individuals. Dr. Fung’s work has received funding from the National Institutes of Health and other state and philanthropic organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Cornell University and an M.D. from George Washington University, completing his psychiatry training at Stanford.
