Inês Caldas D.D.S., Ph.D.
Inês Morais Caldas is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Porto (FMDUP), and holds an Aggregation degree (Habilitation) in Dental Medicine (2013). She earned her Dental Medicine degree from FMDUP in 1998 and her PhD in Dental Anatomy and Oro-Facial Genetics in 2008. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Coimbra. Dr. Caldas is a researcher at UCIBIO (Research Unit on Applied Molecular Biosciences, University Institute of Health Sciences (1H-TOXRUN, IUCS-CESPU),and is the director of the Forensic Sciences Research Laboratory, as well as a Visiting Professor at Erasmus University College Brussels. She is a member of the Portuguese Disaster Victim Identification Team and Forensic Expert level 5 of the Portuguese Association of Forensic Sciences. Her research focuses on forensic odontology, forensic anthropology, human identification, age estimation, and orofacial trauma. She serves as President of the Ethics Committee for Health at FMDUP and is a member of the Ethics Committee of the University of Porto.
