Charles Doring D.D.S., M.A.G.D.

Dr. Doring is a native of Garrett Park, Md and a 1987 graduate of University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After graduation, Dr. Doring completed a general dental practice residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He currently is a partner in the dental practice of North Bethesda Dental Associates in Rockville, Md. Dr. Doring has a special interest in treating the medically and cognitively challenged patient and is a member of the medical staff at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. Dr. Doring is a past-president of the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry and Southern Maryland Dental Society. He is also a member of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Dean’s Faculty in the Department of General Dentistry as well as guest faculty at Allegany College in Western Maryland. Responsibilities include teaching courses on Dental Ethics, A D4 Geriatric Dentistry Externship, Proper Prescription Writing, PANDA, and Job Interviewing Skills. He recently received a scholarship from the American Dental Association Council on Dental Education & Licensure (CEDL) to receive training on providing quality dental education to dental, dental hygiene & dental assisting students.

Dr. Doring is the former chairperson of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Maryland State Dental Association serving the past 14 MSDA Presidents. For the past several years he has authored the weekly Saturday Moring “Advocacy @MSDA.com” blog giving important legislative & regulatory information to dental practices. He is a delegate to the ADA House of Delegates. Dr. Doring was appointed to represent the Maryland State Dental Association to the Maryland Oral Health Care Task Force legislatively charged with finding barriers to obtaining dental care and coming up with solutions to eliminate such barriers. Task Force Legislation passed in the 2023 session (House Bill 290) and is helping to improve access to dental care in Maryland & expanding tuition loan forgiveness to dental and hygiene students who locate to Health Provider Shortage Areas across the State of Maryland.

Dr. Doring has a Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry as well as Fellowship in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentist. He was awarded the 2023 Distinguished Public Service Alumni Award from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
